Sandisk Memory Card

Hi, I recently bought a Sandisk memory card in Japan (which works perfectly in my camera) My laptop was bought in Britain - o/s Vista When I link the Sandisk to my laptop it is not registered on any of the drives/files. However, when I hook up an old Sandisk memory stick I bought in the UK it works without a hitch. Please help - I have 500 Japan holiday pics on there! THanks, G
